CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENT
As per the CBSE Education Code, Article 60:
A. The following acts and conduct on the part of the students will amount to misconduct:
1. General Behavior

Students must demonstrate respect for all individuals including peers, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Rudeness, bullying, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

Disruptive behavior in classrooms, labs, or public areas is prohibited.
2. Attendance and Punctuality
-
Students are expected to attend all classes regularly and be punctual.
-
Any absence must be justified with a valid reason and communicated in advance, where possible.
-
Habitual absenteeism may lead to disciplinary action or academic consequences.
3. Academic Integrity
-
Cheating, plagiarism, and any form of academic dishonesty are strictly prohibited.

Students must complete assignments, exams, and projects with honesty and originality.
-
Using unauthorized resources or helping others cheat will result in penalties.
4. Dress Code
-
Students should dress modestly and appropriately according to the institution’s norms.
-
Clothing that displays offensive slogans or inappropriate images is not allowed.
-
Uniforms (if applicable) must be worn as prescribed.
5. Use of Technology
-
Mobile phones and electronic gadgets should be switched off or kept on silent during class.
-
Unauthorized recording, photographing, or misuse of institutional technology is forbidden.
-
Internet use must comply with ethical and legal guidelines.
6. Campus Property
-
Students must respect school/college property and report any damage immediately.
-
Vandalism, theft, or misuse of facilities will lead to strict disciplinary action.
-
Keeping the campus clean and disposing of waste responsibly is expected.
7. Safety and Security
-
Students must carry valid ID cards at all times and present them upon request.
-
Fire drills, safety procedures, and institutional rules must be followed.
-
Bringing weapons, harmful objects, or substances to campus is strictly prohibited.
8. Substance Abuse
-
Possession or use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco on campus is strictly banned.

Violation will result in suspension or expulsion along with legal consequences if applicable.
9. Interpersonal Conduct
-
Relationships must remain professional and respectful.
-
Any form of sexual harassment, verbal abuse, or discriminatory behavior is strictly prohibited.
-
Conflict should be resolved through appropriate channels.
10. Disciplinary Actions
-
Violation of any code may lead to warnings, suspension, expulsion, or legal action.
-
Students have the right to a fair hearing before disciplinary action is finalized.
-
Repeated offenses may attract more severe penalties.
11. Participation and Representation
-
Students are encouraged to participate in academic and extracurricular activities.
-
When representing the institution (in competitions, events, etc.), students must uphold its reputation.
-
Misconduct during such representation will be dealt with seriously.
12. Grievance Redressal

Students may report grievances through proper channels (e.g., suggestion boxes, grievance cell).

Confidentiality and impartiality will be maintained in handling complaints.
B. In above acts of misconduct, Principal shall take suitable action as per observations of the disciplinary committee depending on the gravity of the misconduct, which may include:
1. Verbal Warning / Counselling

Used for minor infractions or first-time offenses.
-
Delivered privately by a teacher or staff member.
-
Aims to correct behavior with understanding, not punishment.
2. Written Warning
-
A formal note is recorded in the student's file.
-
Parents/guardians are usually notified.
-
Helps establish a record if behavior continues.
3. Parent-Teacher Meeting / Guardian Notification
-
Parents are called to discuss the misconduct.
-
Useful for academic dishonesty, behavioral issues, or absenteeism.
-
Involves the family in correcting behavior.
4. Loss of Privileges
-
Suspension from participation in:
-
Field trips
-
School events
-
Student clubs/sports teams
-

Encourages students to earn back trust through improved behavior.
5. Detention
-
During lunch break, after school, or on weekends.
-
Used for repeated disobedience, minor vandalism, late submissions, etc.
-
Time is used for study, writing reflection essays, or supervised tasks.
6. Community Service
-
Student performs tasks that contribute positively to the school environment.
-
Appropriate for vandalism, bullying, or littering.
-
Helps instill responsibility and empathy.
7. Confiscation
-
Items used inappropriately (e.g., mobile phones, vape pens) may be temporarily taken.
-
Repeated misuse may lead to parental retrieval or permanent ban.
8. Academic Penalty
-
Applicable in cases of plagiarism or cheating.
-
May include:

Marks deduction
-
Disqualification from exams or assignments
-
Re-examination under supervision
-
9. Behavior Contract
-
A written agreement signed by the student, parent, and school authority.
-
Outlines expected behaviors, consequences, and monitoring schedule.
10. Suspension
-
In-school Suspension: Student attends school but is isolated from peers.

Out-of-school Suspension: Student is barred from campus temporarily.

Generally used for:
-
Fighting
-
Substance use
-
Major disrespect toward staff
-
11. Expulsion / Rustication
-
Permanent removal from the school (or for a defined period).
-
Applied in extreme cases:
-
Weapon possession
-
Sexual misconduct
-
Serious criminal acts
-
-
Follows due process, including inquiry and report.
12. Legal Action / Police Involvement
-
For actions violating national/state laws (e.g., assault, drug dealing, cybercrime).
-
School cooperates with law enforcement, and may press charges.
-
Mandatory in child protection or safety violation cases.
